Mobbing research based on gender discrimination in public institutions: Gümüşhane province case

Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to examine the factors affecting these problems by measuring gender discrimination and mobbing perception in public institutions.The universe of research 471 individuals who are selected with a method of random sample based on an essence of volunteering among 4272 workers who officiate in 33 public institutions in the province of Gümüşhane have constituted the universe of research. Data collection device which is used in research has consisted of two chapters. A scale of mobbing (Vol. Mob. Scale) of Aiello, Nardella, Bonafede and Deitinger which is translated by Laleoğlu ve Özmete (2013), a scale of gender discrimination which is developed by Sayar (2008), a scale of mobbing that is developed by Tınaz, Gök and Karatuna (2010) and a scale of mobbing that is developed by Leymann (1993) had been used at the first chapter. At the second chapter, personal information form had been used for determination of demographic changes of participants. The surveys that consist of 32 questions and are graded in the type of quinary likert had been distributed to 471 workers, and as a result of selection from these surveys having wrong or deficient filling 466 surveys had been analyzed by means of SPSS 21 package program. As a result of the study, it was revealed that demographic variables such as gender and marital status significantly differentiated mobbing perception.
