Factors which affect jop satisfaction of employee who works in public sector: a case of Bandirma

This study aims to determine the relationship between demographic and organizational characteristics of public employees in Bandırma district of Balıkesir Province and the factors which affect job satisfaction. For this aim, after literature review was done, concept of job satisfaction, theory of job satisfaction, personal and organizational factors of job satisfaction, positive and negative result of job satisfaction were analysed and these reviews adapted to employees who work in public sector. Surveys were distributed to 280 employees who work in public sector in Bandırma, and 260 survey that returned us were analysed. SPSS-18 package was used for evaluation of data base, and table of frequency distribution, analysing of Pearson correlation, wryness and kurtosis of coefficient and reliability analysis were applied. Barlett and KMO tests were determined for sufficiency of sample size and suitability for Factor Analysing. Finally, Homogenty Test, Independent T-Test, One-Way ANOVA and Kruskal Wallis analysing were applied to measure the relationship between demographic characteristics and factors that affect job satisfaction. As a result, it is necessary to improve salary system in order to increase job satisfaction of employees who work in public sector in Bandırma, Balıkesir. It has been determined that the necessary measures will be taken by the managers of the institutions in order to overcome the stresses that may occur in the work environment and the communication gaps that may occur between the employees and increase the motivation levels and this will increase the job satisfaction.
