Comperative evaluation of public R&D supports in Turkey and the world in the framework of public policies

In this day and age, technology is becoming an essential part of our lives. Adapting to this transformation is a necessity rather than a need for every country. The activities carried out in the fields of science and technology accelerates economic growth and increases welfare. For this reason, every country wants to have a say in the fields of science and technology. Countries see technology as the key to competitiveness in the capital markets. Therefore, each country prefers incentives that are different from each other and best suited to their economic, social and political structures in order to increase their investments in these activities. In this study, firstly the concepts of technology and the place of technology in certain approaches are touched upon. The scope of technological and R&D activities in Turkey and the incentives provided for these activities, and the place of these incentives in the legislation are explained. Technology policies applied in selected countries have been reviewed. I have tried to determine whether these incentives are sufficient for Turkey by comparing them with some examples from other countries. In this context, solutions were offered for Turkey.
