Comparasion of the effects on mortality and morbidity of blood urea nitrogen/cre ratio and mean platelet volume in upper gastrointestinal bleeding

Upper gastrointestinal bleeding caused by proximal part of trietz ligament and often gastric, duodenal ulcer are bleeding. Patients admitted with oral bleed, blood in the stool or complaints of discoloration color feces, upper gastrointestinal bleeding is an important cause of morbidity and mortality should be excluded. In this thesis, admitted to the emergency service with symptoms of gastrointestinal bleeding in patients undergoing endoscopic examination , BUN / creatinine ratio and MPV values and their impact on morbidity will be compared. Adnan Menderes University Training and Research Hospital Emergency Department by presenting with symptoms of upper gastrointestinal bleeding between 1 January 2013 - 1 January 2015 and was included later endoscopic examination performed a total of 141 people in the study. Most of the patients in the study were male gender. When the relationship between age groups and patients with gastrointestinal bleeding was more 70-80 year age range. In patients diagnosed with upper gastrointestinal bleeding the MPV values was shown to be not significant in determining the morbidity or mortality. BUN / Cre ratio of greater than 30 was found that both the detection of active bleeding and the possibility of a significant increase in morbidity and mortality. As a result, in patients admitted emergency service with gastrointestinal bleeding and without kidney failure symptoms, calculation of BUN/Cre ratio in the arrival may also be a useful approach of follow-up and treatment plan.
