Abstract (EN)

Cancer is still a serious disease that is associated with suffering and death. In recent years, classical methods in the treatment of cancer as well as alternative methods of treatment have been introduced and one of them is humor. Cancer patients often hospitalization to get treatment and patients cantact to nurses mostly in hospital so nurses give care to cancer patients to see positive affect who use humor and need to know humor impact on patients. The purpose of this research is investigated that humor styles of cancer patients and the patients perceive as humorous status with nurses in interaction. Probability-convenient sampling method was used to determine the number of samples.Accordingly, 280 patients who are hospitalized with cancer services in Ege University Medical Faculty Hospital. İn research, "Humor Styles Questionnaire" and to evaluate attitudes humor of patients 'Personal Data Collection Form' was used and and datas were evaluated statistically (p<0.005) in SPSS 21. In the research used toKruskal Wallis and Mann Whitney U tests. 45,4's% of patients were female, 54.6% were male and the mean age was 49.1 ± 13,332. Considering the results obtained from the study, it has seen that patients have positive considerations about humor. Patient mostly use positive humor styles. Patients define themselves as friendly and cheerful despite the humor in everyday life / joke is of little use, little to cheer themselves are faced with events and can't see the funny aspects of the event. Patients diagnosed of cancer, it has been found that do not result in change humorous properties. Patients find available and helpful nurses who use humor in the patient care. Despite patients mostly communicate with nurses, they use humor with doctors and use positive in humor styles with doctors. Therefore, to investigate the effect of humor on patients in nursing applications is proposed.
