Abstract (EN)
In this study, it is aimed to develop an electronic nose to be used in the detection of inappropriate use of cigarettes in indoor areas, which negatively affects human health. As a result of the chemicals contained in cigarettes and the gases mixed with the air during cigarette use, it causes chronic diseases, especially pneumonic diseases, lung cancer and other types of cancer. When the patient history of the majority of individuals with chronic respiratory tract infections and COPD disease is examined, it has been observed that they smoke. The main subject of our research is the electronic nose study to be used in the detection of harmful gases to human health, which are produced by cigarette smoke. After the determination of the gases contained in cigarette smoke, sensors to detect these gases were decided and supplied. During the circuit board design, the board was simulated before printing by using the EASYEDA program. When it was seen that there was no problem in the placement of the sensors and other components on the card, the card was printed with the PCB circuit printing method. After the card is printed, the necessary circuit elements and sensors are placed. Finally, the display connections are made to the required pins of the card in order to show the data received by the device to the end user. Since the software solutions in the market for the electronic nose device produced were insufficient, a different software development was needed with its own algorithm. The "Sensor Data Log and Visual Software" has been developed, which allows the separate detection of the gases contained in cigarette smoke and the selection of the sensor to be measured through the system. Thanks to the different sensors used in the electronic nose, different gases contained in cigarette smoke can be analyzed. Carbon monoxide gas was examined in common in all sensors. Measurements taken with other gases are included in the research. In order to detect toxic gases correctly and to make the measurements more stable, a box design that will completely close the circuit board was made using Solidworks software. Finally, in our electronic nose project, measurements were taken under appropriate laboratory conditions for the accuracy of the data coming from the sensors. The measurement results were recorded and graphics were needed to obtain a meaningful result. These graphs were created by transferring the data from the device to the 'Origin 8' program. During the tests carried out in the laboratory environment, the gas response of different sensors was compared and the consistency of the measurement values was checked.
