In modern capitalism, businessmen are pushing back real production activities by dealing with more monetary functions. Veblen states that in general, businessmen's attitudes in this direction, which have changed in the process of institutional evolution, are prevented from working productively in the industry. At the same time, businessmen prevent the emergence of technical progress that may occur in the production process as a result of these attitudes and activities. Because, as a necessity of the interest of periodic business life, production must be restricted in line with the purpose of profit. In particular, the financial sector, which creates the new superstructure, credit, debt and fictitious capital gains; the infrastructure represents the community. In this context, the superstructure determines the infrastructure.
