Abstract (EN)
Zinc oxide (ZnO) is often used as a constituent in sunscreen and cosmetic product formulations by manufacturers in cosmetic applications. Zinc oxide provides better protection from all chemical filters in various wavelengths (between 290-400 nm). The aim of this thesis is to investigate the cytotoxicity properties of micron-sized hexagonal MicNo-ZnO powders, which are a unique powder technology and which have been designed to be much better than ZnO nanoparticles. The coating materials were used as triethoxycarylsilane, polydimethylsiloxane, hydrogen polydimethylsiloxane and silica. The biological effects of MicNo-ZnO powders in different forms were investigated on human keratinocyte (HaCaT) cells. As a result, polydimethylsiloxane was found to have less cytotoxicity compared to MTT and ROS results compared to other coatings.
