Abstract (EN)

The Black Sea Region, accepted as center of the earth or in a location that provides easiest access to it according to all the contemporary geopolitical theories, came into prominence following the Cold War period because of neighboring the energy rich regions, and its role related to transportation of these resources to the world markets. On the other hand, the region embodies both asymmetric and symmetrical threats called as "frozen conflicts". In this context it is aimed to determine that the role played by Turkey related to eliminating above mentioned threats and providing security of the region in this paper. In this regard while symmetrical threats are studied in the frame of securitization theory, which was included the threats stem from political, economic, social and environmental sectors beside military one to the security agenda, the asymmetric threats are studied in the frame of regional and international dynamics. After that following to evaluating the organizations, which are aimed to provide security of the Black Sea region, we will try to present Turkey's contribution to security of the region in the context of these organizations. As a results of the reviews it is determined that Turkey, subjected to western values and takes into account all the regional countries' priorities and participations, but especially Russian Federation's ones, has an important role in providing security of the region. And Turkey facilitates to solving of the problems between the region states through dialogue before they turned into a conflict by playing a leading role in establishment of four regional organizations following to Cold War period.
