Evalution of the relationship between healthy lifestyle behaviors and psychosocial risk factors of nurses working at Karadeniz Technical University Farabi Hospital

In this study, it is aimed to evaluate the relationship between nurses'healthy lifestyle behaviors and psychosocial risk factors. As other purposes; It is planned to determine how nurses'healthy lifestyle behaviors change according to socio-demographic characteristics, health habits and job profiles, and to explain the relationship between these factors and psychosocial risk factors. 200 nurses working at Trabzon Karadeniz Technical University Farabi Hospital participated in our descriptive study. Questionnaire form, Healthy lifestyle behavior scale II and Copenhagen psychosocial risk assessment scale-TR, were used as data collection tools from nurses who were interviewed in the working environment and accepted to participate in the study. The nurses participating in the study got an average of 117.9 points from the Healthy Lifestyle Behavior Scale. Nurses got the highest scores from interpersonal relationships (23.4±3.9) and spiritual development (24.1±4.5) sub-dimensions, and the lowest score from physical activity (14.3±34.1). Among the independent variables, it was observed that the involvement of hobby, presence of chronic disease, family type, and willingly choosing the profession were significantly effective (p <0.05). Even though nurses are health professionals, reasons that have direct or indirect effects can cause problems in practicing healthy lifestyle behaviors that improve health. Firstly solving the workplace problems of nurses whom spend most of time in their working place will increase the implement of the healty life style behaviours. For this reason, studies should be conducted to increase the applicability of health-promoting healthy lifestyle behaviors.
