Abstract (EN)

This study investigated the formation of the Karakartal (Kemaliye-Erzincan) porphyry-type Cu-Au mineralisation at Kabataş village using petrography, fluid inclusion, mineral chemistry, U-Pb, 40Ar 39Ar and Re-Os geochronology, stable isotopes and cathodoluminescence data. The Karakartal mineralisation, which has all the characteristics of porphyry-type mineralisation in terms of both alteration and mineralisation, was formed in association with the Kabataş multi-phase volcanics, which intruded the Keban metamorphics and Munzur limestones between 48.84±0.19 Ma and 47.76±0.35 Ma. It was determined that the formation of mineralisation and alteration in the study area occurred in a period of 3 My between the emplacement of the Kabataş volcanics and about 46 My, when the temperature of the hydrothermal solution decreased by 200 oC. The serizite alteration was formed in relation to the hydrothermal solution with a temperature of 515-334 oC and an average salinity of 45% NaCl equivalent. Solid phases such as halite, silvite, MgCl, magnetite/hematite, pyrite, anhydrite and rutile are present in multiphase high salinity fluid inclusions observed in quartz veins. The cathodoluminescence images clearly show that the overlapping multiphase hydrothermal solution is effective in the formation of these veins. Fertility potential of magmatic intrusions that may be associated with porphyry deposits, it has been observed that zircon trace elements give more reliable results than whole rock data in non-subduction systems.
