Abstract (EN)

The study was achieved between May 2014 and April 2015 at the Karasu Creek and Sırakaraağaçlar Stream located in the province of Sinop. It was conducted to determine some physicochemical and microbiological properties. Therefore, 23 parameter pH, temperature, total dissolved solids (TDS), conductivity, ORP (Oxidation Reduction Potential), dissolved oxygen, ammonium nitrogen (NH4+-N), nitrate nitrogen (NO3-- N), nitrite nitrogen (NO2-- N), chloride ion (Cl-), phosphate phosphorus (PO4-3- P), silicon, chlorophyll-a, total hardness, calcium, magnesium, temporary hardness, salinity, biological oxygen demand (BOD5), hydrogen sulfide (H2S), total suspended solids (TSS) total coliform and fecal coliform measurements and analysis were performed to determine the water quality of both water. According to the data obtained, water Pollution Control Regulation in terms of Quality Criteria Class of inland water resources that, with regard to chloride ion, nitrite nitrogen and hydrogen sulfide values of Karasu River and Sırakaraağaçlar Stream that water quality class III and IV. Furthermore, their water quality was class II and III for dissolved oxygen, phosphate phosphor and fecal coliform measurements. It has also been found that the total hardness, magnesium and salinity values of the Sırakaraağaçlar stream is higher than the Karasu Creek. Examined in terms of other parameters, it was generally determined that water quality class I and II.
