Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this research; The comparison of the balance skills of karate Kata-kumite athletes and the effect of balancing on karate performance. The sample of this research includes 28 (13 male,15 female) participants with orange belt level or higher level in karate who are aged between 11-15 and licenced in 2018 by the Turkish Karate Federation. Participants were invited to the Karate gym of Atatürk Stadium to take anthropometric measurements and the measurements were recorded in there. Participants' Static and Dynamic Balance measurements were measured one week after the Anthropometric Measurements in their training halls following a 15-minute warm-up period. Participants' Static Balance measurements were recorded using the Flamingo Balance test battery and a total of four measurements were recorded, with the eyes open and closed. A total resting time of 3 minutes was provided between participant measurements. Dynamic Balance measurements of the participants were measured using the a test which is modified by regarding the Y Balance test. In total, 6 measurements were recorded in 6 different directions with eyes open and closed. Between measurements, 3 minutes rest period was given. In this research, the balance ability of karate kata- kumite trainees are compared and it is investigated whether the balance has an affect on karate performances. As a result, it is understood that static balance has a positive impact on kata and kumite performances. Also it can be seen from the results that dynamic balance affects the performances of kata and kumite in a positive way.The performance of kata has a positive reflect on kumite performances.
