Qardashliq Magazine, which was given a start by Kardaşlık Ocağı (Qardashliq Quarry) in Baghdad in 1961, written in Arabic, Turkish (Arabic alphabet) and also few editions in Turkish (Latin alphabet) has published around 125 editions between the years 1961-1977, is believed to be a cultural and literary magazine. Hoyrats and many other poems in the magazine were written in the Kirkuk dialect of Iraqi Turkmen Turkish. This magazine is valuable and a major source of Iraqi Turkmen Turkish in terms of reflecting manifold visages, values of folklore and culture of Iraqi Turkmen literature following their transmission to the new generations. The major substances of Qardashliq consist of the topics such as poetry, hoyrat, language and dictation, various reports and interviews, book promotion, critique and review, novel, story, history, sports etc. In each edition of the magazine, works such as hoyrat, poetry, mani, riddles, proverbs, idioms, customs, music, marches, various folk beliefs, child folklore has been done under the title of "Folklore" or "Folklore Studies". In addition, in the edition titled "Genç Kalemler" or in few other editions in the section titled "Açılan Cumbutlar", various poems and hoyrats of young poets and writers are given a place in the magazine. In this study, a total of 1552 hoyrats from the section of Folklore, Genç Kalemler and other parts of the magazine, following the transcription of hoyrats and their language features were examined. In the introduction part, information about the Iraqi Turkmens, Qardashliq Magazine and hoyrats are given. iv This study consists of four chapters. In the first chapter, phonology of the hoyrats, and in the second chapter, their morphology were analysed. In the third chapter, the transcription of hoyrats in Qardashliq Magazine (1961-1977) is given. Fourth chapter consists of a dictionary containing the Turkish equivalents of the Turkmen words in hoyrats.
