Abstract (EN)

In this study, adsorption of difenoconazole pesticide was investigated using chitosan obtained from shrimp shells. In the first stage of the study, chitin was obtained from the shells of deep-water pink shrimp (Parapenaeus longirostris), which were separated as waste after their meats were processed, and then chitosan was synthesized by deacetylation of chitin. The deacetylation degree, molecular weight, viscosity, moisture and crude ash values of the chitosan were determined. Chitosan, which has a high deacetylation degree of 90.21%, was used as an adsorbent. In the second stage of the study, the effects of pH, temperature, and pesticide concentration on adsorption were investigated. The optimum pH for pesticide adsorption was determined as pH 5. It has been observed that the adsorption increases with the increasing temperature. During the 60 minutes of adsorption, a rapid increase was observed in the concentrations of 5 µg/L, 15 µg/L and 25 µg/L difenoconozale in the first 5 minutes, and the adsorption rate was fixed after 10 minutes. Langmuir izotherm parameters were found as aL = 0,635, kL= 15,10 and Qmax value was calculated as 23,77 mg/g. When the results of the study were evaluated in general, it was concluded that chitosan biopolymer was a suitable adsorbent material in the adsorption of difenoconazole pesticide.
