Investigation of career understanding in terms of Z Generation: The example of Bandirma

When the literature is examined, it is seen that there are few studies on the career understanding of Generation Z individuals. In this study, by explaining the concept of career, the concept of generation and the generations living today, it is examined in which direction the career understandings of the Z Generation individuals who have university education and are preparing to enter the working life, gender, monthly income, whether there is a difference between working at a job during the education period and career understanding. In this context, a total of 405 students of Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences were reached through a questionnaire. The survey data of 328 Generation Z students born in "1995-2002" and studying at university were analyzed and evaluated. According to the results of the research, it has been found that the monthly income of the Z Generation and the status of working in a job during the education process affect their career understanding. In addition, the career approach of Generation Z does not contain a sexist attitude compared to other generations. In the career understanding of Generation Z, it is seen that they want to do an additional job with flexible working by looking at flexible working positively.
