The effect of career anchors and core self-evaluation on job satisfaction: A field survey

If universities, training the qualified work force of the future, would like to attain quality,if they want to make an indelible national and international impression,this depends on the performance of the academic and administrative staff members carrying out their assignments there. This performance can be attained with staff members satisfied with their jobs, carrying out their assignments with love. Within this context, determination of factors that influence job satisfaction is extremely important. The effect of career anchors and core self-evaluation of the staff on job satisfaction has been examined in the study. The sampling of the study consists of 261 staff members carrying out their assignments in academic and administrative positions at the University of Artuklu in Mardin. Data collected through surveys has been assessed in SPSS program through frequency, correlation and regression analyses. What has been concluded at the end of the study is that perceptions of staff members on their career anchors and on their core self-evaluation have positive effects on their general job satisfaction.
