Investigation of traffic accidents occurred on the Kastamonu İnebolu state highway

Traffic accidents are becoming a bigger public health problem day by day. It is considered that the biggest factor in the occurrence of accidents is caused by human errors. It is predicted that if the road users comply with all the traffic rules, there will be a decrease of at least 50% in the traffic accidents to be experienced. In addition, when the moments of increase in accidents are examined; It is considered that the accidents are more frequent when the traffic density increases, and the accidents that may occur can be prevented with additional measures to be taken during these periods. In this study, the traffic accident detection reports of traffic accidents that occurred on the D-765 İnebolu State Highway between 2016 and 2020, prepared by the traffic law enforcement, were examined. By evaluating the data obtained, graphs were prepared and interpreted. On the aforementioned road, 311 traffic accidents with death and injury occurred in five years, 36 people lost their lives and 747 people were injured. With the suggestions to be made as a result of this study, it is aimed to prevent accidents on this route and thus to reduce the loss of life and property.
