Abstract (EN)

This study is based on Toponyms Of Kastamonu-Taşköprü. In the Introduction section of the thesis, the disciplines of onomastics and toponymy are defined overall, and then information is given about the purpose, importance, subject, constraint and method of the study. The Second chapter, detailed information is given about the disciplines of onomastics and toponymy. In the Third part, contains information about the origin of the name Taşköprü, the history of the district, its geography, education, economy and transportation, population and administrative structure, social and cultural structure and the villages to which it is affiliated. In the Fourth section, 3084 toponym identified in Taşköprü district were examined and classified in terms of linguistics (phonetics, morphology and syntax), semantics and etymology. Subsequently, the classified toponyms were shown with numerical data and explained with the help of graphics. In the Conclusion chapter, general evaluations were made on toponyms. In the last part, the Taşköprü Toponyms Dictionary was prepared, in which geographical terms and local words that were involved in the establishment of the toponyms identified in the Taşköprü district and that could constitute a dictionary item were explained. In the References section, the names of the works used for the thesis are given. Purpose of the study; by identifying the toponyms of Taşköprü district, it aims to reveal the historical traces, social and cultural heritage, linguistic character and identity of the district, to reveal the toponyming tradition of the Turkish nation, and to contribute to the existence of Turkish toponyms, Turkish toponymy and Turkic science.
