Religious traditions in the Catholic family (Poland example)

Traditions; are the values that bring individuals together and constitute the social heritage. Families, which are the smallest union that makes up the society, are the structures in which the tradition is transferred to the next generations. As in every religion, there are some religious traditions that families continue in Christianity. However, the understanding of tradition, of each group of Christianity is not exactly the same. Therefore, in this study, family traditions in Catholic Christianity and its social reflections are mentioned. In order to fully understand the religious depths of the traditions, first of all, basic information about Catholic beliefs is given. Subsequently, the Catholic family traditions were discussed within the scope of the liturgical year, sacraments and beliefs. Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, Lent and Easter periods are mentioned in line with the liturgical year. In order to examine the current situation and scope of the detected traditions, a survey study was conducted by selecting the Polish universe and Warsaw sample, which is one of the countries where Catholicism is experiencing the most. Although Catholic beliefs, holidays and some religious traditions have been mentioned in the studies conducted in this field in Turkey, the absence of a comprehensive study focusing on Catholic life and based on family traditions makes this study unique.
