Abstract (EN)

Band saw machine are used for cutting natural stone. Band saw machine are connected on diamond -segment blades and cutting makes this tool. The diamond segments are forces various loads and undesirable damage to the diamond segment consequently occur. In this study, fracture behaviours of the diamond segmented band saw used in cutting process of natural stones are investigated as experimental and numerical studies. Firstly, cutting tests are make in the band saw machine and forces are obtained in depending on different cutting parameters (feed rate and cutting speed). Therefore, damaged diamond segment and bands are carried out test such as microscopy, microstructure, hardness, material composition and tensile test. In numerical studies, stress, fracture and fatigue analyses were performed the according to obtained experimentel date Franc 2DL program based on finite element methods was used in the analyses. Different cutting parameters and diamond segment heights were considred in the analyses. In the conclusion of the study, diamond segment fracture occur in the two important region called brazed and band material. With the reduction in height of the diamond socket vaccine has made a positive contribution to the fatigue life.
