Özet (EN)

This study identifies organofacies properties of Pliocene units around Kavuklar (Karapınar-Konya) vicinity. In the study area, Upper Miocene-Pliocene aged lacustrine İnsuyu Formation (Ni) is conformably overlaid by Pliocene aged lacustrine and fluvial Hotamış Formation (Nh) which consist of lignite levels. Clayey, silty-clayey alluvium (Qal) overlies Hotamış Formation (Nh) unconformably. The average total organic carbon value for samples that belongs to well number 147 is 8,5%. Kerogens are third type and woody organic material is dominant. Since vitrinite reflectance value 0,35% and average Tmax 4170C, the unit is in the diagenesis period. Ash component of analysed coal sample (%41,23-46,63 dry base) and volatile component (%32,85-35,24 dry base) are high. Dry base contains %4,76 sulfur and top thermal datas change between 2935-3321 Kcal/kg (average of 3117 Kcal/kg) and show us the class of coals are lignite, also detailed origin is lignite?B from subgroup.
