Abstract (EN)
In this study, the behavior of embankments used for rock fall protection were investigated using finite element based software ANSYS in three dimensional conditions. Firstly an experimental study from literature was modelled in this program for validation and then parametric studies have been performed. First of all different velocities, masses, geometries and impact heights for the falling rock blocks are investigated to see the change in maximum deformations on the embankment. Then the maximum deformations are searched by the change in specific gravity and internal friction angle of the soil used for construction of the embankment. It's found that the maximum deformations were increased with the increase in velocity, mass, and impact height of falling rock. The results of analysis by using different parameters were studied comparatively and necessary instructions are made with suggestions.
