The contribution of organized industrial zones in Kayseri to local economy Kayseri Center I. Organized Industrial Zone sample

The phenomenon of industrialization is one of factors that determines development of a country. Industry increases production and trade, it has also positive effect on reducing unemployment. Organized Industrial Zone, regions that enterpreneurs produce together, makes a big contribution both enterpreneur and city of zone. Strong economy needs strong industry, for strong industry, industrialzones is always an advantage. With planned development in ourcountry, some programs was prepared to set industrialzones in specific areas. And development of industry is always supported. In this study, contribution of established industrial zones to city is explored on the basis of "Industry and Organized Industrial Zone". When investigating the contribution, Kayseri 1st Organized Industrial Zone is taken as an example. The study addreses especially contribution and benefits on citycentre. The origin of Industrial Zone occured along with industrialization moves that starts in 1800s and rapidly increase of number of industrial facilities in some European residental area via industrial revolution. Industrial facilities that large and small, randomly and gathered by theirselves pave the way for Industrial Zones. After the first Organized Industrial Zone application in 1896 in England, Industrial Zone applications began to spread around USA and Europe. Industrial Zones was started to apply on Turkey in the beginning of 1960. Since then it played a crucial role in reducing unemployment, speeding up of industrial investments, improving of quality fruitfulness in production, avoiding regional unequality, establishing cities more planned and enviroment friendly and providing regional development in our country. Kayseri 1st Organized Industrial Zone went into action in 1976. The aim of this study is exploration of contribution of Industrial Zones to Kayseri in development, industrialization and providing regional development via creation of employment. Literature reviewing and face to face meeting will be chosen as study method. As a result of the research, the share of Kayseri I. Organized Industrial Zone in urban employment, its share in the national income of the country, its export and import figures, the status of benefiting from state incentives as Kayseri I. Organized Industrial Zone, the communication of enterprises in the organized industrial zone with the Organized Zone Directorate and The sectoral distribution of the enterprises that take the field has been explained with numerical data. KOSGEB, Kayseri I. Organized Industrial Zone, İşKUR, etc. Necessary suggestions have been made to start technology-intensive production
