Abstract (EN)

In this work, the periods of transitions, folklore beliefs and kitchen cultures of Üçkonak Village of Tomarza Township of Kayseri Province, and of Yeniyayla Village of Adana Province are explicated, and these two villages are studied comparatively in this respect.In the issues as discussed in the first section relating to the periods of transitions are given the information obtained from the verbal sources as followed the ones obtained from the written sources. According to the information obtained from the verbal sources, at the end of each section of this work, the traditions relating to the both villages have been compared and evaluated, and so it has been tried to determine what the similarities and differences are between these two villages.In the second section concerning the folklore beliefs and kitchen cultures are stated the folklore beliefs and kitchen cultures of the both villages, and emphasized the similarities and differences thereof; and it has been tried to determine the reflections of such beliefs in the context of the old Turkish culture and the geographical, social and cultural structures of the both villages to their kitchen cultures.As a result of this research, it has been observed that there are some similarities of the cultures of Üçkonak Village and Yeniyayla Village, and that the belief/cultural structure of the Central Asia and Anatolia has been continuing its existence in the cultural texture in a different way as well.Key Words: Üçkonak Village, Yeniyayla Village, Periods of Transition, Folklore Beliefs, Folklore Kitchen.
