Abstract (EN)

The Cyprus problem is a problem that started to be negotiated fifty years ago and unfortunately has not been solved even today. So far, the United Nations has changed six Secretary-Generals, many of whom have produced solutions to the problem, yet have not succeeded. What kind of a problem lies at the heart of this is arguable. Rauf R. Denktaş represented the Turkish Cypriots in the negotiations for many years with his arguments based on legal basis and his opposition to the impositions of the Greek Cypriot side. Rauf R. Denktaş, who was called maz irreconcilable Rum with the Greek and Western discourse, only wanted his nation to feel the longing for independence. This study examines Denktaş's negotiating side and the way it follows in the negotiations with its strong memory and negotiation ability. In addition, it has been a study explaining to what extent the "uncompromising" discourse used for itself reflects reality.
