Abstract (EN)
Biomass is one of the energy sources, renewable and plentiful. Today intensive studies have been undertaken on chemicals and power genaration including bio fuels from biomass. Production of gas, liquid, aqueous organic compounds and solid products (char) from biomass by pyrolysis technology is known since the first ages. The ratio of products can be produced by this method depend on the techniques applied and pyrolysis variables; and reported so far, product yields reflects mainly the results obtained from the system open to the atmosphere. In this project, locust bean cake, a waste of biomass from syrup production process is preferred. Locust bean cake some preliminary analysis before pyrolysis, thermogravimetric analysis and scanning electron microscope analysis was conducted.Later, in order to obtain synthetic fuels, pyrolysis of the locust bean cake was carried out in a fixed bed reactor in a nitrogen atmosphere. To determine the optimum conditions for the pyrolysis of this biomass; the effect of temperature, heating rate of liquid product yield was investigated. Maximum liquid product (biofuel) yield obtained at this conditions; for 20 minutes reaction time, at 400 oC the pyrolysis temperature, at 6 oC/minute heating rate and 0,07>Dp>2 mm the particle size range. The maximum liquid product yields is obtained under these conditions was found to be 12.48 %. Also in order to determine the composition of bio-oil was applied the GC-MS ve FT-IR analyses. Calorific value of the pyrolysis liquid is calculated by bomb calorimeter. Pyrolysis results obtained solid product (char) scanning electron microscope analysis was used to evaluate in subsequent studies. All this data is evaluated, liquid product which is obtained pyrolysis of locust bean cake could be effectively used as a liquid fuel and chemical raw materials. 2016, xi + 59 pages Keywords: Locustbean, reneweable energy, biofuel
