Abstract (EN)
In the present study, Kemal Tahir's perception of Ottoman on the basis of characters who had been described as Ottoman in his novels, and whether his intellectual process has an effect on this perception has been examined. 13 novels, out of his 19 novels, which include characters described as an Ottoman have been used and studied according to their date of being written rather than of published. Thus, it is intended to demonstrate whether Kemal Tahir's intellectual process caused a change in the construction of characters, and if so, through these changes whether he imposes a function of constructing an idealized Ottoman person and reshaping the past.
