Abstract (EN)
This thesis study titled "Understanding Turkish Foreign Policy through "Kemalist Discourse"" aims to discuss the effect of "Kemalist discourse" on Turkish foreign policy, within the scope of hegemony and discourse developed by Antonio Gramsci and contributing to Critical Theory. Firstly, in the post-Ataturk Turkish foreign policy, the general lines of Critical Theory have been focused in order to enable the "Kemalist discourse" to reproduce itself and to analyze the hegemonic establishment. It is thought that examining the periodically established relations in Turkish foreign policy in order to reveal how much the actors and the historical development process have made in the decisions taken in Turkish foreign policy will provide important contributions. The formation process of the "Kemalist discourse" has been included in order to understand the effect of the "Kemalist discourse" on the decisions taken, the ways followed and the relations established in Turkish foreign policy. It was pointed out how the hegemony established by the "Kemalist discourse", which reproduced itself in the following years, reproduced itself in Turkish foreign policy decision-makers after 1938. Key words: Critical Theory, Antonio Gramsci, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, Kemalist Discourse, Turkish Foreign Policy
