Özet (EN)

Prophethood is a significant issue both in terms of the science and history of kalām. This study aims to examine how Kamāl al-Dīn al-Endijānī addresses the topic, along with his distinctive methods of reasoning and argumentation. Moreover, the research holds importance as it reflects Endijānī's theological stance within the discipline of kalām. One of the main objectives of this study is to introduce and analyze the relatively unexplored intellectual legacy of Endijānī, who remains little known in Turkey. Endijānī systematically engages with and evaluates the arguments of both the Ahl al-Sunnah and other sectarian groups regarding prophethood, reaching conclusions on its necessity, miracles, proofs, and the infallibility of prophets. The most significant of these conclusions is his rational demonstration of the necessity of prophethood through his own evidential reasoning. Furthermore, his responses to groups denying the need for prophethood are logically coherent and critically grounded within his intellectual framework. His adherence to the Hanafī-Māturīdī tradition in addressing contested issues of prophethood demonstrates his theological orientation. Ultimately, Endijānī clarifies, defends, and systematically explicates the necessity, conditions, and benefits of prophethood.
