Evaluation of intermediate level violin studies in terms of their technical contents

In this dissertation, the violin studies "Fiorillo 36 Etudes", "Kreutzer 42 Etudes", "Rode 24 Caprices", "Mazas Brillant Studies" and "Dont Studies and Caprices" are examined in terms of their technical content. Moreover "Fiorillo 36 Etudes" and "Kreutzer 42 Etudes" are evaluated for potential applicability in theState Conservatories and Music Instructor Education Programs of universities in Turkey.In this research, every etude is individually examined, opinions of the experts are collected through questionnaires and data from these questionnaires are boiled down into findings to be further discussed. Following a thorough analysis of these findings the results of the research problem is observed. Based on these results the order of etudes in "Fiorillo 36 Etudes" and "Kreutzer 42 Etudes" used by violin instructors to pass the violin playing techniques onto their students is uncovered.As a result of this research, we propose solutions and ideas towards the optimal ordering by the proficiency levels of the techniques involved in the etudes of the methods "Fiorillo 36 Etudes", "Kreutzer 42 Etudes", "Rode 24 Caprices", "Mazas Brillant Studies" and "Dont Studies and Caprices".KEYWORDS : Education, Violin education, Method, Technique
