Abstract (EN)
With the rapid changes in the structure of society, there is a great transformation in the perspective towards sports, the importance given to sports, and spending time in this field. Today, despite the intensive work tempo, sports scientists are constantly trying to develop new and effective training methods for athletes to stay healthy and increase their capacity performance quickly. Many researchers have focused on developing the core, and many training methods have been developed. This study examined whether "The effect of 8-week core stability exercises with their body weight on physical fitness and motor skills in adolescents" or not. The study universe consists of adolescent male and female athletes with a regular training history and an average age of 10-12 years. The study's experimentel group comprises 30 volunteer athletes, 18 males and 12 females. The study's experimental group comprises Youth and Sports Club athletes living in Tokat province. After the anthropometric measurements of the experimental group were taken, flexibility, vertical jump, squat jump, speed, agility, motor skills, and KTK balance tests were applied to the athletes as pre-test and post-test. The 8-week core training planned in Table 4.2 was applied to the experimental group, and after the anthropometric measurements of the group at the end of the 8-week study, as a post-test, flexibility, vertical jump, squat jump, speed, agility, motor skills, and KTK balance tests were applied again. When the pre-test and post-test results of the physical fitness T-test of the male and female groups were compared, it was observed that there was a statistically significant difference in the pro agility test, active jumping (hands-free and hands-on waist) tests, and squat jumping test results (p < 0.05). When the pre-test and post-test results of the Motor Skills Balance and Carrying T-test of the male and female groups were compared, it was observed that there was a statistically significant difference in the results of the balance and carrying tests (p < 0.05). The pre-test and post-test results of the data obtained from the sample were analysed with a paired-sample t-test for dependent-independent groups. The SPSS 23.0 package program was used for data analysis. In interpreting statistical data, p < 0.05 was accepted as the significance level.
