Right to city and gender relatitonship: Women's demans for the right to the city in Bingöl

Urban space; In its most basic sense, it covers the spaces where urban events occur and consist of individuals within the city. The urbanization process, which accelerated as the urban population exceeded the rural population, caused everyone who participated and took part in this process to claim a right over urban space and the concept of the right to the city emerged. The concept of "Right to the City", first put forward by Henri Lefebvre, refers to the equal and effective use of urban space by individuals and their participation in this urban space. The right to the city is a fundamental right founded on justice. The right to the city is the fundamental right of those who cannot reach it and those who are deprived of it. Women's relationship with cities includes some experiences of exclusion and inequality. Within the urban structure, women cannot exist in cities equally with men due to gender inequalities and are deprived of their urban rights. The aim of this study is to evaluate the relationship between the right to the city and gender and to determine the demands for the right to the city by analyzing the expectations of women in Bingöl from the city. In this study, the concept of the right to the city, the demands and expectations of women in Bingöl for the right to the city in urban space were examined with a feminist approach, based on the principle of equality of social justice.
