The fast growth in global population and the corresponding increase in urbanization rates cause environmental issues in cities and highlights the significance of urban environmental quality. Urban environmental quality is a multifaceted notion that encompasses a city's sustainability, resilience, and livability while taking into account varying characteristics. This master's thesis aims to assess urban environmental quality in the Odunpazarı district of Eskişehir province, within the context of socioeconomic, ecological, and biophysical criteria. The main and sub-criteria (indicators) were determined based on the literatür and the criteria weights were determined with AHP method according to the expert opinions. Vector data and LANDSAT images, as well as analysis tools such as IDW, NDVI and NDBI were performed for the development of the criteria maps, followed by the production of the final Odunpazarı district urban environmental quality map on a 5-point scale theough weighted overlay method. The results revelaed that the general condition of environmental quality in the Odunpazarı region is "moderate". In addition, 21,31% of the district is very good, 25,04% is good, 34,28% is moderate, 13,92% is poor, and 5,45% is very poor. The method used in assessing urban environmental quality is projected to provide an important reference to planning processes. Furthermore, the results of the study are supposed to provide a model for future urban environmental quality research.
