Abstract (EN)

Permanence, which is constantly changing and transforming, has gone beyond being defined as being resistant to time and being durable, and has become a part of the temporary that stands out today. This situation, which coincides with the increasing temporary nature of art, paved the way for a study on permanence and urban art. Especially, since the 20th century, changes and transformations in art, artist, audience, art object, art space, time and movement dynamics have led to an increase in the perception of temporality in art and, in this direction, to the emergence of different types and approaches of art. After the 2000s, temporary art have become increasingly widespread in the urban space such as architecture, installation, sculpture, graffiti, mural art, performance art, digital art: video installation and according that permanence in the urban space has acquired different aspects. Within the scope of the study, firstly, an overview of permanence and the problem were presented and the approach to the subject was discussed. Then, the concepts that define and explain permanence, the forms of permanence, the relationship of permanence with art in urban space, the components-elements-quality and different artistic approaches that are effective in the formation of permanence in art are examined through literature analysis. In the analysis part, common-targeted sample groups were created with cluster sampling technique, analyzes and evaluations were made, and conclusions and recommendations were created. It is thought that the thesis, which is done with a chronological view, will make important contributions to the field of city and art.
