Abstract (EN)
This thesis aims to maximize employees' physical, psychological, and social well-being, to ensure the sustainability of these conditions and to prevent the deterioration of health due to working conditions. In this context, the effects of urban green spaces on employees' psychological well-being and happiness were examined through a survey conducted with 336 individuals employed in the public, private, and freelance sectors in the city center of Batman. According to the results of the simple linear regression analysis conducted to determine the predictive effect of psychological well-being on happiness, the model was found to be statistically significant (p <.001). The Pearson product–moment correlation analysis conducted to examine the relationship between participants' psychological well-being and happiness levels indicated a positive and statistically significant correlation between the two variables (r = .585, p < .001). Reliability analyses revealed that the Cronbach's alpha coefficient was .823 for the participants' Psychological Well-Being Scale and .875 for the participants' Happiness Scale, demonstrating high internal consistency for both measures. In conclusion, the findings demonstrate that the development of urban green spaces that are safe, accessible, and sustainable widely utilized by all segments of society holds strategic importance not only for the physical development of cities but also for the health and well-being of employees. Based on the results obtained within the scope of this study, several recommendations have been proposed to enhance employees' psychological well-being and happiness.
