Abstract (EN)
It is a well-known fact that fossil-based energy types are being depleted day by day in the face of rapidly advancing technology on a global scale and the corresponding increasing energy demand. In this context, an arrangement or improvement in the consumption of energy in every process of the production process will contribute positively to the relevant institutions/organizations in increasing energy efficiency. Energy consumption reaches significant levels in the process of machinability of aluminum, from reserve acquisition to raw material conversion, and from raw materials to semi-finished and final products. For this reason, every improvement made to energy and its final product in aluminum processes will benefit both in terms of increasing energy efficiency and reducing environmental pollution. In this context, a new filtering pool was designed and manufactured in this study in order to eliminate the problems that arise in the case of using traditional filtering pools in aluminum batch casting processes and to increase efficiency. As a result, the filtration pool designed within the scope of the thesis was examined in terms of metallurgical and energy consumption. When examined from the metallurgical point of view, the fluidity, increase in mechanical values and improvement in the bifilm index analysis were obtained in the alloy passing through the filtering pool. In terms of energy efficiency, the filtration pool remained below the targeted consumption, and success was achieved.
