Abstract (EN)

In this study, clays including Ca and Mg were investigated. It was confirmed that after sintering clays new minerals were aimed.Clays are coded according to their ratios of CaO and MgO. Before sintering plasticity, thermal and chemical analyses, size distribution and pyhsico-mechanical properties were performed for clay samples. Clays were shaped and sintered 900-1100ºC. And pyhsico-mechanical properties and mineral developments were investigated for sintering clays. At the fired alkaline bodies of clays, over 1000ºC, there were obtained much glassy phase. On the other hand, at rare earth containing bodies over 850ºC some minerals were observed. CaO containing clays performed anorthite, wollastonite, and gehlenite as secondary minerals at different firing temperatures. CaO and MgO containing clays, diopsite, akermanite, monticellit, and forsterite minerals were occurred at different firing temperature. The forming secondary minerals when containing Ca, and Mg were found effective the pyhsico-mechanical properties of final products.
