Abstract (EN)

Unless there is an obvious intervention from the outside, cities, towns and districts continue their development and growth at a moderate pace in line with their own internal dynamics, depending on the population and welfare increase foreseen for them. On the other hand, the development and growth momentum of cities, towns and districts affected by events and facts outside of them, such as changes in land use in their vicinity, are always prone to be triggered by these changes. Cities, towns and districts with streams flowing through their own lands or neighbouring lands are subject to external intervention as a result of physical activities such as the construction of dams on these streams. It is anticipated and expected that Abdipaşa District, which has a surface area of approximately 37 square kilometer, will take on the appearance of a summer resort town on the shores of the dam lake in time and will have an identity focused on tourism and recreation. In this study, which has reached a research area of approximately 100 square kilometer by integrating the dominant landscape around the Kirazlıköprü dam reservoir and lake with the land covered by Abdipaşa Town, the presentation of development and growth models, proposals and suggestions focused on tourism and recreation in the form of advisory plan decisions has been taken as the basis in line with the predictions and expectations regarding the face and identity of Abdipaşa Town. In these advisory plan decisions, where sustainable land use decisions focused on tourism and recreation are integrated with ecosystem-compatible architectural approaches and alternatives, the ecological and topographic structure in the landscape has been meticulously taken into consideration as the basis, and energy efficiency and spatial saving effectiveness have been meticulously considered in architecture. In the study, evaluations have been made to determine the recreational potential of the Kirazlıköprü Dam surroundings and Abdipaşa settlement and its immediate surroundings. In the analysis; parameters that may be important for recreation and tourism such as slope, erosion sensitivity, elevation, vegetation density, proximity to water resources and transportation accessibility have been addressed. The relative importance levels of these parameters were determined by the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP), and the weights obtained were applied through spatial modelling in the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) environment. The main objective of the research is to determine the most suitable areas for tourism and recreation in the study area, to prevent unplanned and dysfunctional uses, and to shed light on management decisions in line with the principles of economic and ecological sustainability.
