Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between the Five-Factor Personality Model dimensions -extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, neuroticism, and openness to experience- and job stress among employees in the health sector. A correlational survey design was employed. The study population consisted of staff working at a teaching and research hospital in Malatya, Türkiye; using convenience sampling, 342 participants (171 women, 171 men) were included in the research. Data were collected with the 10-item Short Form of the Five-Factor Personality Inventory and the 20-item A-Job Stress Scale. Hypotheses were tested through Independent Samples t-tests, one-way ANOVA, Mann Whitney U, Kruskal Wallis-H, and Pearson correlation analyses. The analyses revealed a significant difference in job stress across groups defined by workplace risk level, and a significant difference in personality traits across occupational groups. Correlation findings indicated negative relationships between job stress and extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, and openness to experience, whereas neuroticism displayed a positive relationship with job stress.
