Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to determine the effect of the tourist guides' personality traits on their professional attitudes and job satisfaction. In the research, firstly, a conceptual framework was created by searching foreign and domestic literature about the concepts constituting the variables of the research. Survey technique was used as data collection method in the application phase in line with the theoretical framework created. The research population in Turkey are actively working in 7022 deed of tourist guides. In this frame, a total of 600 questionnaires were distributed considering the number and rate of active tourist guides registered in the guide chambers, 462 of them were returned and 453 questionnaires were evaluated by eliminating the missing - incorrect questionnaires. The answers the tour guides gave to the survey; factor analysis, reliability analysis, percentage, frequency, variance analysis, arithmetic mean values, t test, correlation and regression analyzes. According to the findings obtained, it was found that the professional attitudes and internal job satisfaction of the tour guides were high and that the dimensions of extroversion, openness, liveliness and responsibility, which were other dimensions besides the neurotic dimension than the personality traits were high, the personality traits of tourist guides had a significant effect on their occupational attitudes and job satisfaction, there appears to be a meaningful relationship between the professional attitudes of the guides and job satisfaction.
