The right to one's own image and its protection

A person's image reflects their personality and individuality and serves as their gateway to the external world. However, with the invention of the camera in the 19th century, followed by the advent of television and the internet in the 20th century, and finally social media in the 21st century, this gateway has become increasingly vulnerable to "trespassing." From the moment we step outside -or sometimes even before- we are monitored and recorded. Whether on the street, at school, in the bank, at the hospital, on the bus, hundreds of meters underground or overhead, in the middle of the ocean, or deep in the forest, but most importantly in the virtual world, our images are subject to various avoidable and unavoidable interferences, regardless of time and space. Therefore, determining how an image, as a reflection of an individual's personality, should be safeguarded against these interferences and how it can be legally protected is of crucial importance. In essence, this work aims to address these concerns.
