Abstract (EN)

Industry and technology in Turkey and the world is continually evolving and this situation leads to the emergence of new production machines and conditions. Along with the new working conditions and machines, an increase in work accidents and occupational diseases has started to be seen. This situation has revealed the need to constantly take new measures regarding OHS in the workplaces (Hendem, 2019). Collective protection measures and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) are the primary works to be done to prevent accidents and occupational diseases in the workplaces and to create a healthy and safe environment for employees (Beşer, 2019). In our study, the effect of the employee in the use of PPE, which is an important factor in preventing occupational accidents and diseases caused by insufficient compliance with the requirements of OHS practices, was measured. In our study, a questionnaire regarding the use of PPEs was applied to 123 employees shift in a glass factory in Malatya. The data obtained were analyzed using the program SPSS 22. As a result of the study, the importance of using PPE in the prevention of work accidents and occupational diseases and the approach of the employees in the use of these protectors were evaluated.
