Reflection of mass migration movements on The Turkish economy: The example of Mersi̇n province

Mass migration movements are a human-induced social phenomenon. The definition of migration, which is a possible disaster, has been explained. When looking at the migrations experienced by Turkey from a geographical perspective, explaining the economic, sociocultural, political and natural factors that cause migrations. As a result of the research, it seems that Turkey is the target of its past movements. Digital data on migration to Turkey has been shared, and how these migration waves have been scanned in Turkish economies has been investigated. Mass migration movements are the size of the sieve distributions of Türkiye in general and Mersin province in particular. Mass Migration movements do not show negative or positive effects on the economies of different conditions. The creative positive and negative effects of mass migration movements, of which Turkey is the target, on economic growth, inflation, employment and public finance are discussed. The number of immigrants in Mersin province, resident companies with foreign partners and economic data in this context were investigated. Information was given about the education and health services provided to immigrants. Mass migration movements contributed to commercial activities in Mersin province, increased the amount of exports and, accordingly, increased economic growth. Local people had difficulty in accessing employment due to unregistered employment, but on the other hand, employment was positively affected by the personnel recruited to resident immigrant health centers. Education and health expenditures, in particular, had an impact on public finances. Keywords: Mass migration, economy, disaster.
