Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of an 8-week classical badminton training program on the physical characteristics and biochemical parameters of athletes. The participants had an average age of 20.3±1.07 years, an average height of 172.6±3.91 cm, an average body weight of 68.2±3.17 kg, and a BMI of 18.5±2.6. The participants underwent blood tests at a predetermined health facility both before and after the training program. No dietary program was applied to the participants, and they were advised not to engage in any other forms of exercise. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS version 26.0. For evaluating the pre-test and post-test measurements, the dependent samples t-test was utilized. The significance level was set at .05. As a result of the findings, significant reductions were observed in body weight and BMI before and after training (p<0.05). When examining the biochemical parameters, significant improvements were noted in glucose, triglycerides, total cholesterol, HDL, and LDL levels (p<0.05). In conclusion, the findings of the study support the positive effects of badminton training on metabolic health and cardiovascular risk factors. The training program led to significant improvements in physical and biochemical health, highlighting the importance of regular badminton training.
