In the light of classical and contemporary interpretations commentary on the Surah Ra'd

This surah takes its name from the word 'Raʿd', meaning thunder, used in the thirteenth verse. Sūrat al-Raʿd, which is the thirteenth in the Holy Qur'ān and the sixth in the order of revelation, consists of 43 verses. According to the majority opinion, it is a Meccan surah in terms of the subjects it covers. This research examines the Sūrat al-Raʿd within the framework of four basic principles: tawhid, prophethood, afterlife and worship. In addition, within the framework of these basic principles in the research, the Sūrat al-Raʿd was divided into subheadings and evaluated by following the themed commentary method. This dissertation consists of an introduction, two chapters and a conclusion. In the introduction section, the purpose, method and sources of the research are mentioned. Moreover, the first chapter answers the question of what Thematic Tafsīr is, then gives general information about the Sūrat al-Raʿd and touches upon the basic concepts that constitute the main subjects of this surah. Furthermore, the second chapter explains the Sūrat al-Raʿd using the thematic tafsīr method and while doing this, it also makes use of classical and contemporary tafsīrs. The conclusion section talks about the methods used in the writing phase of the thesis, general evaluations and inferences about the surah. Sūrat al-Raʿd generally covers topics such as the existence of Allah, his unity and the proof of his power through rational evidence, the truth of the Qur'ān, the proof of prophethood, some issues related to the afterlife, the characteristics of believers, the delusions of polytheists and the answers given to them.
