Literary aspect of the compositions in classical Turkish poetry (Fuzûlî, Bâkî, Nâilî ve Neşâtî example)

This doctoral thesis titled Literary Aspect of The Compositions in Classical Turkish Poetry aims to reveal the literary aspect of the classical Turkish poetry by acting from the divans of Fuzûlî, Bâkî, Nâilî and Neşâtî, which come to the fore front during their periods. The composition is formed when, the two words are tied with each other around a certain interest and the words complement to each other with various interest and meanings. Compositions are involved in word groups in respect of the structure. Within the thesis, Turkish, Persian and Arabic compositions are categorized under three main headings as the truth, metaphor and allusion, in terms of the meaning that is connoted by wording. Metaphor, figure and fictive compositions, found in metaphorical compositions were considered in terms of literary value that they have contributed to the expression. The metaphorical compositions that are more of part of literary language and are not preferred in daily language, are the foundation stone of the imagination that is builded in the couplet by poet. The structures, so-called unusual harmonisation in the language, are also seen to be fictive compositions within metaphorical compositions. It was determined that the most important opportunity that is provided to poets with usage of metaphorical compositions which has literary value, is the concretization of abstract concepts and the transfer of feelings. The effects of both periodic style and personal style on the use of compositions were investigated, as a result of examining the compositions that are found in divans of Nâilî and Neşâtî who are the representatives in the 17th century of the Fuzûlî, Bâkî and Sebk-i Hindî who are the classical style representatives of the 16th century. As a result of this thesis prepared, it was revealed that the compositions have an important role in concretizationing of abstract concepts and the transferring of feelings.
