Abstract (EN)

In this thesis study, clinoptilolite and chabazite sample obtained from Gördes and Bala regions respectively. Modified forms prepared using 1.0 M salt solutions of NaNO3, KNO3, Mg(NO3)2, Ca(NO3)2, AgNO3 and 0.1 and 1.0 M HCl acid solutions were characterized by XRD, XRF, N2 adsorption and FT-IR spektroscopy. Furthermore, thermal properties of all modified samples were determined by TG and DTA methods. As a result of the ammonia adsorption experiments carried out at 25 °C, the natural and modified forms of chabazite samples were found to adsorb more ammonia than those of clinoptilolites. NH3 adsorption capacities of chabazite and clinoptilolite samples were determined in the order of DSAB> 01HSAB> MgSAB>CaSAB>NaSAB>KSAB> AgSAB>1HSAB and MgKLI>CaKLI >NaKLI>01HKLI>DKLI> AgKLI>1HKLI> KKLI, respectively. Among all the samples examined, the highest ammonia adsorption capacity of the DSAB sample was found to be 8,931 mmol/g.
