Abstract (EN)
This study examines the effects of earthquakes that occurred in the city of Knidos on public buildings and sacred areas. Within the scope of the study, the impacts of earthquakes affecting the city on the Datça Peninsula and Knidos have been addressed, supported by archaeological studies, ancient sources, and geological research. Due to its location on active fault lines, the city has historically been frequently exposed to earthquakes. The study focuses on the destructive impacts of earthquakes on the architectural structures of Knidos, and also investigates the connections between fault lines and the selection of locations for religious structures.
