Financing problems of SMEs: The case of Batman province

Financing problems are one of the most important problems faced by SMEs that are considered important for national and local economies in terms of production, investment, employment and value added. Identifying these financial difficulties is important for the sustainability of SMEs. From this point of view, the main purpose of this study is to reveal the financing problems of SMEs in Batman and the ways to solve these problems. In this context, a survey was applied to 404 SMEs and statistical analysis was performed with the data obtained from the surveys. As a result of the analyzes performed, it was observed that the majority of SMEs faced financing problems and they expected a great deal of support from public and private institutions for the elimination of financing problems. In addition, it was concluded that in case of timely elimination of financing problems, it will contribute positively to local economic development.
